Radio Etienne on MySpace!

posted March 2nd, 2007 by DJ Scooby

Now that this site is back after its recent bandwidth issues I can finally announce the station’s new MySpace profile, which can be found at http://www.myspace.com/radioetienne. Since I put the profile up several weeks ago we’ve accumulated around 800 friends from among bands on the station’s current and previous playlists, as well as from requests by other bands to be added. We also have friends among indie record labels, magazines and websites, as well as a number of political groups and individuals, animal welfare organizations and others. If you have a MySpace page already I hope you’ll check out the site and add yourself as a friend; if not I think you’ll find there are still a number of features on the page to make it worth visiting occasionally. I’d appreciate any suggestions concerning any bands, record labels or others that we might add that you don’t see there already.

In the future the MySpace blog will feature a constantly updated stream of tourdates, new album releases and other news about the bands we’ve featured on the station; I hope that’ll make this new page a welcome and useful adjunct to this, the ‘official’ Radio Etienne home.

Among other features, the profile has a number of video clips from the station’s bands you might wish to check out; there are more on my personal MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/progressiveliberty; I particulary like the Pizzicato Five ‘Twiggy, Twiggy’ video myself. Vince also has a link there as to his own MySpace profile.

While you’re visiting I’d ask to please add yourself to the station’s Etienne community map, whether or not you’re a MySpace member. I’d also appreciate any feedback you’d care to offer, either through email or, after you become a friend of the station, through the comments section.

Two Gallants incident! Houston. October 13, 2006

posted October 16th, 2006 by Vincent Longoria

I was going to go to this show but my kids got sick.

The local media is stating the officer was jumped by band members and patrons of Walters ( A bar that hosts performances from various indie bands.) Those in attendance state otherwise and that the cop was very aggressive.

Here is actual footage taken of the incident. I’ll let you decide.

PART ONE

PART TWO
You can hear the taser on this one. Apparently a 14 year old was one of the individuals tasered.

Dumped a whole bunch of old tunes. Added a crap load of new ones. Too many to name right now. Will do later, fatigue setting in…

PS: Featured Artist Submissions on the way too.

PPS: I guess this means I’m back!

Goodbye for now!

posted May 4th, 2006 by Vincent Longoria

Due to major time constraints, I’m having to bow out for now.

Once things quiet down I should be back with the guys here at Radio Etienne.

Alternatively, I may branch out and relaunch my old station. It’s too soon to tell at this time.

No matter which direction I choose, I will return in August. That will give me more than enough time to sort things out.

I thank Cliff and John for giving me the opportunity to DJ with them. I look forward to returning soon.

Later,
Vince
